She was born on October 2, 1933, in Tiffin, to Herbert and Mabel Clouse, and they preceded her in death. She married Urban Steinmetz, Jr., and he passed away suddenly. They had two sons together, Gary and Tom. She later married Eugene Rider, and they shared almost ten years together until his sudden passing also.
